Apple Drops MacBook Pro Retina, Air Prices, Improves Specs

Prices decreased by $100 to $300.

Apple has announced that it has dropped the prices for MacBook Pro laptops equipped with a Retina display, as well as incorporated improved technical specifications.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina is now available for $1,499, which is $200 less than what Apple charged for it previously. The higher-capacity 256 GB model, meanwhile, will set you back $1,699; it's $300 less than the original price. The processor clock speed for the latter model has received a boost from 2.5 GHz to 2.6 GHz.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina has also seen its speed improved, with the lower-end version receiving an increase from 2.3 GHz to 2.4 GHz, while the higher-end model gets pushed from a 2.6 GHz to a 2.7 GHz quad-core processor, accompanied by double the RAM at 16 GB.

Apple also decreased the price of its high-end MacBook Air, with the 256 GB version costing $1,399, or $100 less than the previous price.
